Ajaib Singh Rai December 30, 1965 - October 8, 2020 Beloved father, husband, son, brother, and friend, Ajaib Singh Rai, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2020. Not a moment passes without him in our thoughts. Ajaib was born on December 30, 1965 in the village of Shadipur, District Jalandhar to doting parents Mohinder Singh and Harbans Kaur Rai. He moved to Canada with his parents and younger siblings, Ranjit and Rani Rai, in the spring of 1975 at the tender age of 9. Ajaib spent the remainder of his childhood in Golden and Vernon, BC, where he graduated from Vernon Senior Secondary. He went on to attend Cariboo College in Kamloops where he successfully completed a diploma in Robotics and Computer Technology. In 1994, Ajaib attended BCIT to attain his Journeyman Electrician designation, receiving the highest grade amongst his graduating class. Ajaib married his beautiful wife Gurminder in 1989. They had three wonderful children - Simran, Tejinder, and Balraj. The family spent their years between Calgary and Vancouver. Adventure followed everywhere they went, as Ajaib was a true explorer at heart who would leave them with memories to last a lifetime, and special places they could visit to feel his presence. In his younger days, Ajaib loved riding his bike, this passion turned to a love for long drives with no destination, just a longing to discover hidden gems and find the perfect escape. Ajaib was pegged a "foodie" by his closest friends and family, always on the search for the best of everything, he had a particular fondness for locally sourced goods. Ajaib was a lifelong learner, a highly intelligent man who made it a point to stay knowledgeable and current about virtually everything. We will never forget Ajaib's big heart and infectious spirit. Ajaib gave selflessly to those in need, even when the give was beyond his own means. Ajaib always offered the best advice, it made his heart happy to help others and watch them succeed. A true visionary, Ajaib lived by the words "always look at the big picture". To say he had a big personality is an understatement, he was truly one-of-a-kind. Family and friends will remember Ajaib as a kindred spirit with a pure heart, who touched many lives in his special "AJ way".

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you.
