It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Amédée “Medee” Deveau, at age 85 on Friday November 19, 2021 at the Moncton Hospital with his daughters by his side. Born in Meteghan Station, N.S, Amédée was the middle child of the late Moise and Élizabeth (Thibodeau). He was the common thread that kept the family together between his siblings. Medée was the devoted husband to Lorraine (Blanchard) for 59 Years. They were married in Moncton, N.B. on November 10th, 1962 and had three children, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Medée always enjoyed the company of family and friends and was loved by all. Uncle to many nephews and nieces too numerous to mention; such a blessing to be part of a large family. A testament to his dedication, he retired as a heavy equipment mechanic for Modern Construction after 46 years of faithful service maintaining and rebuilding equipment, his way. He will be dearly missed by his forever loving wife Lorraine of Rustico, children Ann of Moncton, Victor (Carol-Ann) of Ottawa, Andrea of Rustico; grandchildren Jérémi (Joelle) of Ottawa, Michel (Anna) of Ottawa, Alex of Moncton and Océanne of Rustico; great-grandchildren Noah, Élikia and Anderson of Ottawa, and his only surviving brother Philip of Blacks Harbour, N.B., and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his siblings Edith Leblanc of St-Bernard, N.S, and Beatrice Comeau and Irenée “Joe” both of Moncton. After Mom had a stroke in 2019, Dad became the primary caregiver and remained caring for her until he was admitted to the hospital last week. We are so thankful for his love and care during this time as he himself was ageing and facing his own health challenges. A memorial service celebrating Dad’s life will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Friday November 26th ,2021. Visitation at 11am, service at noon, internment, followed by a luncheon. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the ER, Neuro ICU/Cardiac Care and Palliative units for their professional care and the support received at the Moncton Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you.
