Visitation for Ana Leonor Salazar

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ana Leonor Salazar on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the age of 61. She was a loving wife and mother of three children and a grandmother to six grandchildren. She will forever be missed and cherished. Ana was born on April 7, 1959 in San Julian-Sonsonate, El Salvador to Mamerto De Jesus Orantes and Transito Salazar De Orantes. She immigrated to Canada in 1984 and met her loving husband of 34 years in 1987 in Toronto, Ontario. Together they grew an incredible life and created many lasting memories with family and friends. Ana had a passion for making everyone feel loved and for helping others. She loved to put a smile on the face of anyone she met. She dedicated her life to being a caring, giving and loving person to her family, friends and strangers. She always chose to see the best in anyone she encountered and offered her friendship to anyone who would accept it. She loved to take on new creative craft projects often and had an incredible imagination that she brought to real life. She often helped plan parties or celebrations and brought a unique and special touch with her creativity. She was also a lover of baking and cooking, you would always find her in the kitchen making her well-loved and classic recipes, but also always experimenting with new ones. She loved to make big family meals and bring those she loved together to enjoy bonding over a meal. She was also always known for her legendary cakes, she took pride and joy in baking cakes for her loved ones whether they were special occasions or just a treat. She individualized every cake she made to fit the person she was making it for to show her love. She will always be known for her generosity, infectious smile, laugh, compassionate spirit and beautiful singing voice. Ana was preceded in death by her father, Mamerto De Jesus Orantes, and her mother, Transito Salazar De Orantes. She is survived by her husband Mauricio; her three children, Luis, Zeneyda and Erick; her six grandchildren, Omar, Erika, Viviana, Savannah, Jacob and Brady; one great grandchild who will be born in April 2021; her sisters, Dora, Flor, Norma and Maria; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Flowers or donations may be sent to 32 Abalone Crescent NE, Calgary, AB T2A 6W6. Visitation will take place at Mountain View Funeral Home (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. A Private Family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral (219 18 Avenue SW, Calgary) on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. **Due to COVID-19, seating is limited due to COVID restrictions to a maximum capacity of 20 guests, so please contact a family member if you wish to attend.
